How care works

Arrange care in Leigh, one clear step at a time

Every situation is different. We use a clear, person-centred pathway from first enquiry to agreed support, monitoring and review.

  1. 1

    Contact our team

Tell us where support is required and provide a broad description of the person’s circumstances and needs.

  2. 2

    Discuss your needs

We consider the individual’s needs, goals, location, current risks and the type of support being requested.

  3. 3

    Complete your assessment

Where the enquiry is potentially suitable, we assess health and care needs, strengths, preferences, communication, consent, capacity, risks and desired outcomes.

  4. 4

    Agree your plan

We agree the proposed service, responsibilities, staffing, schedules, clinical arrangements where applicable, costs and review arrangements.

  5. 5

    Review your support

Support begins after the plan has been agreed. Outcomes, risks and changing needs are monitored, with care reviewed and adapted as necessary.

Care and recovery are not always linear. Needs may change, and some people require periods of re-stabilisation or longer-term support. Progress is measured against the person’s own assessed goals and circumstances.

Assessment arrangements, visit schedules, costs and cancellation terms are discussed and agreed before support starts.

How-care FAQs

Timing, cost and cancellation

How quickly can care start?

Timing depends on assessment, suitability, the support required and available staff capacity. The team will discuss a realistic start date with you.

Is the assessment free?

Ask about assessment arrangements and any charges during your first conversation. Costs will be explained before you agree to proceed.

What happens if a care worker is late or cannot attend?

Contact the team if an expected visit does not take place. Arrangements for reporting delays and covering visits are discussed when care is planned.

How are concerns handled?

Raise concerns with the Healing Hands team and ask for the complaints procedure. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.

Let’s talk about the support you need

Tell us where support is needed and what matters to you. Our Leigh team will explain how Healing Hands may be able to help.
